After it's reported screening in Los Angeles earlier this week, DC's Aquaman has been receiving a fair amount of praise for all it's hard work and production - but it looks like the movie isn't what we expected it to be after all.
A number of people who were present at the early screening took to social media to express their perspectives and thoughts, but the most fascinating comparison that instantly sparked thoughts among fans was from KC Walsh.
Addressing these repeated screenings, Walsh pointed out that Aquaman was a through and through MCU Phase One movie, and that fans who liked Marvel's Phase One movie will likewise enjoy this upcoming fantasy/thriller.
Not everyone agrees, of course.
A few replies under the tweet expressed their impressions on how Aquaman was more like the first Thor movie, while a few others thought it was most likely to be similar to Thor: A Dark World (based on the color theme, characters and humor).
And while all of this does make a great deal of sense, I'd personally advise everyone not to watch the movie just because it's been compared to TDW or any other Marvel movie for that matter.
DC holds a reputation of sticking to the darker, more intense side of any superhero movie. They tend to flex a tad bit more towards reality - even though it doesn't exactly work every time - and that is kind of what separates them from Marvel.
And with the direction that DC is taking over the course of a few of its forthcoming productions, it's obvious that we can expect a much thrilling and better experience on the IMAX screens.
Of course, we can't actually guarantee that this film will bring nothing but glory to the DCEU, that's something the audience is going to have to decide themselves, but we can clearly see that DC won't remain behind the clock forever.
Aquaman hits the theaters on December 21, so keep an eye out for any updates till then!
