Dawn of Justice Set Features a Green Screen, Superman Statue

It's not yet clear just why there's a Superman statue on the set, nor why it looks somewhat different from the costume seen in Man of Steel (there are, as far as we can tell here, none of the detailing bits that constitute his "belt" on the statue, and the "S" shield certainly seems larger here than it was on screen). There's always the outside chance that this is a nod to the Centenniel Park statue erected after the death of Superman in the comics -- a story that both director Zack Snyder and star Henry Cavill have spoken warmly of in the past -- but it seems wildly unlikely that they would do that in the second movie...and even more unlikely it would have happened offscreen between films.

Michigan native “Bananadoc” grabbed his camera and headed to the old GM building across the street from the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac to snap the photo above. The statue is still being constructed, but you can clearly see that it’s Superman in front of a huge green screen.
