Warner Bros. Television has released the first two images from CBS’s new pilot Supergirl, from The Flash and Arrow producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. The series, which started shooting this week, stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El and Supergirl.
Supergirl's costume colors are more muted which is very similar to what Henry Cavill wears in the Warner Bros. Supeman movies. Maybe DC and the studio are thinking of a potential crossover with the Man Of Steel.
Though a crossover could crush are chances of getting a Arrow/Flash Supergirl crossover. Since many reports and comments have made it clear that Arrow and The Flash are separate to the DC Cinematic Universe.
The costume for Supergirl was designed by Colleen Atwood, who also designed the costumes for Arrow and The Flash.
“In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today,” Atwood said.
Written by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg based on the DC Comics characters and directed by Glen Winter, Supergirl — from Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Prods. — centers on Kara Zor-El (Benoist). Since arriving on Earth, the Krypton-born Kara has been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she always was meant to be.
