2016’s Star Wars: Rogue One may be seeing the return of fan favorite Darth Vader.
Birth.Movies.Death reports that Darth Vader will have a big presence in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, but stopped short of calling him the main antagonist.
Instead, according to BMD’s sources, Vader will be “the man behind the curtain,” the one pulling the strings for the Empire as the rebels work to pull off their heist. And will reportedly be seen via display screens and holograms. Sources reportedly remained tight-lipped about whether any of the Rogue One characters will actually come across Vader in person, though the Force help them if they do.
While it’s hard to imagine anyone other than James Earl Jones voicing the Sith Lord in the cinematic world, the article didn’t mention whether the actor will reprise the role or not.
This is obviously unconfirmed for now, so take it with a grain of salt for the minute. But tell us your thoughts on the matter in the comments below.
Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One is slated to hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
