"The Call" is the thirteenth episode of Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels, and while the one-offs are starting to grow tiresome as we anticipate the gems from the most recent trailer, there are some huge revelations to the Star Wars mythology to keep any fan happy.

The episode begins as our heroes are off on a refueling trip and they run into none other than "Space Whales!" Well okay, they're called purgill by the official canon, but the internet has taken to calling them "Space Whales," and that's very much what they are. Immediately, Ezra takes a connection with them as he demonstrates his power in the Force.

This episode seems to be a mixed bags for fans; either you love it or you hate it. I didn't necessarily hate it, but it was not one of my favorite episodes of the season. They pulled off a nice episode with what could have been a silly concept, but Hera and Sabine are wasted. The former takes a hateful stance of the purgill that felt out of character to me, at least.

It was a decent episode that made some interesting implications for the Galaxy Far Far Away. We see Ezra grow in the Force and I'm interested to see where this goes, but enough of the one-off stories. Let's get to the meat of this season. I give it a C+.
