We know Disney is prepping an absolute onslaught of Star Wars material for the next few years, and it sounds like they could have a TV project on the verge of breaking loose.
Along with all that high-profile casting buzz about Star Wars: Episode VII, Cinelinx is reporting that Disney is also holding auditions for some as-yet-unannounced Star Wars “specials and mini-series.” Hmm, well, that sounds interesting.
Sadly, the report doesn’t have any other details, though the news could certainly be in reference to those “Darth Vader Themed TV Specials” included in that forward-looking Disney/Lucasfilm project list that leaked last year. We're still waiting to find out what that might be all about.
Of course, we can hold out hope that this news is somehow related to the live-action Star Wars television series that George Lucas has had on the back burner for a decade or so. We wouldn’t be surprised if Disney did resurrect that concept at some point, but it’d be surprising for them to get at it this quickly. Buy hey, fingers crossed.
What do you think these alleged casting reports are tied to? Is Disney cooking up some super-secret Star Wars goodies?
