Peter Jackson’s has reportedly turned part of his New Zealand home into a tribute to Middle Earth.
Stuff reports that a secret bookcase opening in Jackson’s basement leads to a recreation of Bag End, the home of Bilbo Baggins.
Bino Smith, an artist who worked with Jackson on Lord of the Rings, helped him build a livable system of tunnels that includes Bag End beneath Jackson’s backyard.
“Bag End is underground,” Smith said. “You have to go under tunnels to get to it."
"There’s nothing like it in this world. People can stay there.” Bino Smith said, reported Stuff.
Smith also explained that other directors, like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, come to visit and use it as a “playground”.
At least if Jackson ever gets homesick for Middle Earth, all he'll have to do is head down to his basement.
