David Tennant is playing Zebediah Killgrave, aka The Purple Man, in the upcoming Netflix and Marvel series called A.K.A. Jessica Jones. And we now have are first look at the villainous character.

Upon casting, Kilgrave was described as "an enigmatic figure from Jessica's past" whose "reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super hero's world." In the Marvel comics, he was a former spy who got exposed to chemicals (sounds kinda like Daredevil huh?) that turned his skin purple and gave him the power to make people do whatever he wants.

One of the things fans have been wondering about is whether or not the supervillain will have purple skin. Thanks to Instagram user Koray Ersin, we have a first look of Tennant as the Purple Man on the set.

Does this mean we won’t be seeing him with purple skin? Maybe. Perhaps he’ll get purple skin later? Or perhaps the series will go for a more “grounded” look. Or maybe they are handling the Purple Skin with CGI or in some other manner to keep the quality consistent. Or they could just not have the money in the budget to keep him purple and keep the quality.

But to me it doesn't really matter, i'd rather have a quality adaptation. Because if AKA Jessica Jones is anything like the Daredevil series it'll be great.

You can check out the series’ synopsis here:

After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. Starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave), with Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker), and Carrie-Anne Moss, A.K.A Jessica Jonesis produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Tennant will star alongside Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Carrie-Anne Moss and Rachael Turner. Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, a 13-episode series, will premiere on Netflix later in 2015.
