Director James Gunn has revealed new details on Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 while in several different interviews. According to director James Gunn, the soundtrack to his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will actually trump the music displayed in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
“Originally people kept asking me, ‘Don't you feel a lot of pressure to do the second movie?’ and I didn't in general,” Gunn told ETonline.
“But I did feel a little pressure for the soundtrack because so many people loved it and we went platinum and all that other stuff. But I feel like the soundtrack in the second one is better.”
Director James Gunn also said that we'll learn much more about Nebula (Karen Gillan), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Yondu (Michael Rooker) in the sequel to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
"I think that the characters of Gamora, Nebula and Yondu are some characters we get to know a little bit more in the way that we got to know some of the other characters in the first movie," Gunn said to MTV news at the Avengers: Age Of Ultron premiere.
In addition to all this James Gunn seemingly confirmed that Peter Quill/Star-Lord will finally cross paths with his estranged father.
"Listen, I'm still excited about Star-Lord's character and where he goes,” Gunn revealed. “At its heart, Guardians is a story about families, and if the first film was about him and his mother, this is a story about fathers. So it's exciting to go there." he teased to Vulture.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
