It's been less than two weeks since Daredevil's entire first season hit Netflix. And showed us a different side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a darker, more streetwise, and realistic side of live action comic book heroes.
And left enthusiastic fans begging for more; with raving reviews.
We already knew that Netflix and Marvel would be giving us four more different street-level superhero series in the coming years.
But now, late Tuesday Marvel Entertainment and Netflix have announced that Daredevil will be coming back and receiving a second season of all-new season of adventures in 2016. But this time he'll be doing it with a new showrunning team. Steven DeKnight who served as the showrunners in the first season will be stepping down, and instead Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy) will be taking on the torch, both of them served as writers and producers on Daredevil season one.
“While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season," DeKnight explains, "I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."
It's such a shame that DeKnight will be leaving, he did such a fantastic job with the first season. But given what a big hand these two had in crafting the launch of Daredevil, it looks like the show's in good hands. And i cannot wait to see what lies ahead for season two.
