According to The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa McCarthy (The Heat) is being eyed for the lead role in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot.

She's apparently in early talks, but her movie and TV schedule may end up stopping her from accepting. However, both sides are hoping to work something out, with the plan apparently to shoot Ghostbusters in June.

The site adds that, "The Ghostbusters reboot is said to be an origin story of new characters who take up ghostbusting and not a "hand off" movie from the original 1984 film (though there is a small chance that surviving Busters Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson could make cameo appearances)."

Despite the fact that they've both expressed interest, neither Jennifer Lawrence or Rebel Wilson are contenders, but Emma Stone is "available". Meanwhile, Jillian Bell (Workaholics) and Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) are due to meet with with Feig. What would you guys think about these casting additions?
