Jeremy Renner Not Pushing For A Solo Hawkeye Movie, But Hints Captain America 3

Avengers star Jeremy Renner is currently out promoting his new film Kill the Messenger. However, as is the case with most actors involved in comic book films, he can’t go an interview without getting asked something about what’s next for him in the capes and tights world.

In an interview with MTV, Renner says he’s not pushing for his own solo Hawkeye movie, but may have accidentally confirmed a Hawkeye appearance in Captain America 3.

“I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means,” Renner said. “I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like ‘Cap 3.’”

Hawkeye was originally written to make an appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but the scene was eventually cut before it was filmed. Looks like Hawkeye may yet get his chance to team up with Cap on screen – you know, besides in The Avengers and Age of Ultron.
