James Gunn Already Has Casting Plans For Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is moving full steam ahead.

Director James Gunn spoke about Marvel’s cosmic sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 a bit more during a recent chat with fans via Periscope recently. And revealed that casting has begun on major new characters, with Gunn saying that there will be two new additions to the main Guardians team, one of them female.

He said that a first draft of the script is already done but warned that his storyline is “risky” in the fact that it differs from the source comics.

Gunn also took the opportunity to, again, touch on the matter of Star-Lord’s father. He teased that the new film will be a “story about fathers.” And reiterated that he doesn’t care of the character of J’Son of Spartax, and that he will not be Peter Quill’s father in the Marvel Comics Universe.

What we do know is that the new characters introduced in the sequel won’t be Earth-based heroes like Captain Marvel. SInce Gunn said in the past that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) will be the only Earth-based hero while he’s working on the franchise.
