The latest Amazing Spider-Man sequel is set to introduce a new-look version of the Green Goblin, and now we have our best look yet at the classic Spidey baddie.
Mild spoilers ahead for Amazing Spider-Man 2!
As we’ve essentially deduced from all the posters and trailer glimpses up to this point, Dan DeHaan’s Harry Osborn will apparently suit up as the Green Goblin in this adaptation of the story, seemingly bypassing original Goblin/his father Norman Osborn along the way. That makes enough sense, since they wouldn't want to retread the Goblin story told in Sam Raimi's run.
As part of the promo work for the film, a bust of the Goblin has been created, and now some pics of that design have leaked out below. The look definitely matches up with the glimpses we’ve seen, and it seems we could be dealing with a more organic take on the Goblin style.
There’s a lingering fear that Amazing Spider-Man 2 will suffer from baddie fatigue (aka Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 syndrome), and we’re admittedly a bit worried Marc Webb’s version of the wall-crawler could blow through too much of the rogues gallery too quickly, without giving them proper time to be fleshed out.
Sadly, we can’t answer that question right now, but we can offer a peek at the young Goblin who will be wreaking havoc in Manhattan. Check it out and let us know what you think:
