Game of Thrones's Gwendoline Christie has been revealed as the actor beneath the awesome Stormtrooper style armor, which has been dubbed as “Chrometrooper” armor by fans, from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Vanity Fair revealed that Christie will play Captain Phasma, the one who was wearing that super cool chrome stormtrooper uniform that looks like a cross between a Stormtrooper and a droid.
Captain Phasma is a member of the First Order formed out of the ashes of the Galactic Empire after the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi.
However Hollywood Reporter pointed out that in The Vanity Fair piece they specifically hinted that Phasma might not be all bad:
"Should we really assume that Christie’s Phasma is pure evil? In a franchise where a rakish smuggler can get the princess, a Sith Lord can be redeemed, and a stormtrooper can be a potential hero, anything can happen,"
In related news Adam Driver has been confirmed to be playing the cross-guarded lightsaber wielding Kylo Ren earlier today.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18, 2015.
