Can someone call the men in white coats? To celebrate The Joker turning 75-years-old Friday, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has released a new photo of Jared Leto as The Joker. And he looks totally crazy.
Ayer tweeted the image with the caption, "The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics."
Now Leto's version is very different from what we've seen in the past. Yes, he has green hair but instead of wearing white facepaint, he looks just pale.
He has dental grills, one purple-colored glove on his right hand and his body is covered in tattoos, including the words "Ha Ha" on his forearm and chest. And on his head, the tattooed words "Damaged". He looks like an inmate. And he looks like someone who's served hard time.
I'm not sure about how i feel about The Joker having tattoos, i feel a little bit like they just don't fit the Joker's character. He's the Clown Prince of Crime. He shouldn't need tattoos to freak people out or intimidate them. Just being The Joker does that.
But i have to say Leto's Joker does freak me out and he does look insane and the Joker's character is meant to make you think just that. Over all i can't wait to see how Leto's Joker turns out all in all and what direction they take him.
How do you feel about Leto's Joker?
