Marvel Studios has reportedly cast the role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers for the upcoming Captain Marvel film.
According to Latino Review’s El Mayimbe, Marvel is keeping the identity of their Carol Danvers tightly under wraps. Apparently we’ll be meeting her soon, though, as she’s said to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But — and this is a big but — Mayimbe clarifies that this is just a rumor that has been unconfirmed. He does mention that it is in the realm of plausibility.
Latino Review also states that Marvel Studios have the film's basic plot worked out, but are still searching for the right screenwriter to flesh out an actual script. On firmer ground is the report that Jim Starlin, classic Captain Marvel helmer, is on-board the film as a creative consultant.
Some fan-favorite fan-casting choices have been, from Emily Blunt to Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer to Katheryn Winnick from Vikings. If this rumor is true, though, we’ll know who will take on the role in just over a month’s time.
Captain Marvel takes off on July 6, 2018.
