The first teaser for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been officially released, one day after it got leaked online.
Director Zack Snyder posted the two-minute clip on his Twitter feed late Friday afternoon calling it the "not blurry," "not pirated" edition.
Different glimpses of Henry Cavill's Superman take center stage in the first half, following a montage of commentators wondering whether Superman is a potential threat rather than a defender of mankind. Then the center stage goes to Ben Affleck's for the next half.
While Jeremy Iron's Alfred talks about how feeling powerless can turn good men cruel, then we also see the new Dark Knight fly and drive through explosions. And then we see an armored Batman looking up in the sky at Henry Cavill's Superman and asking him whether or not he bleeds. "You will" then promises Batman. You can check out the trailer below.
It's apparent that Zack Snyder seems to be continuing the grim 'n' gritty tone of the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight films and his own Man of Steel. Now why they are fighting? My guess would be that it has something to do with Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luther. Or Batman and the world questioning whether it even wants a godlike being like Superman around.
Also some Easter eggs have been pointed out my fans over the web. One worth noting is that during the shot of Bruce Wayne we see in the trailer, it appears that there's a display case with a cape, and gloves in it behind him... Which might persistent the rumors from various sources saying that Jason Todd will have been Robin, and will be dead, by the time the movie starts. And his costume would have sat on display in the Batcave for years after his death.
And the other possible Easter egg worth noting is. At a location that looks it might be the train station where Superman killed Zod in Man of Steel, now closed and condemned, and Batman's there looking for something and holding a large object. A stylized question mark spraypainted on one of the pillars has some fans wondering whether this could be in Gotham and that could be a nod to The Riddler.
There's also one other thing that got me wondering are. What's going on with those soldiers bowing to Superman, with what seems to be S-shields on their shoulders? It certainly looks like a cult dedicated to Superman. And they could be the people who built that massive statue of what appears to be Superman?
What do you think of all this? Tell us in the comments below. Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on March 25, 2016.
