'Time for After' has got to be the best episode of 'The Walking Dead's Season 8.
I have to admit, I've been struggling for a while to stay as embroiled in each episode as I had been last season. There was something about the plot continuity and the action scenes that felt off.
Episode 7 though, was right back on form. That sense of tension so distinct to the show was back again, and man was I glad for it.
The episode focused mostly around Eugene plunging to a new low as a member of the Saviors, and it ended with Rick leading the Trash People (who are also affectionately named "The Heapsters" by some fans) to the Santuary, only to find that he has no way to communicate with his snipers, and that his carefully crafted plan has gone terribly awry.
Those of you who stayed around for the after-show (and probably everyone else too) will know that 'Talking Dead' host Chris Hardwick promised a huge shocker for next week's episode, leading fans to believe that can only mean one thing: a death is coming.
Personally I have three theories, but only two are probably plausible:
1. Dwight/Eugene and Negan
My dad and I both think that perhaps Eugene might have just one little shred of decent left in him, and he decides to plot with Dwight to take out Negan. One or two of them die enacting this scheme along with Negan himself. Major shock factor, and perhaps plausible?
I have a feeling that Jesus might be killed by one of the Saviors hilltop prisoners, specifically Dillon (played by Callan McAuliffe). I think it would be an interesting (and somewhat ironic) unfolding of events.
Maybe he dies during the whole Sanctuary thing, I'm not sure. It's probably 0% likely, but hey, it's really the only real death I think will surprise me.
Those three aside, I decided to ask our fellow fans in online groups what they thought, and here are the 5 characters who came up most often.
Who do you think's next? Let me know in the comments below!
